ARCTIC P311 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones Review

ARCTIC P311 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones

The Arctic P311 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones are definitely the best in quality in relation to other headphones of the same price range. At this given price, the Arctic P311 is not only extremely affordable but also comparable to other headphones which range at much higher prices. The Arctic P311 is especially valuable as a wireless headphone for TV. It is extremely compact and light and is also ideal for travelling which makes it also useful for outdoor activities.

Design and Features

The first thing that will strike you about the Arctic P311 is its significantly small size. However it is worthy to note that the quality of sound produced is quite remarkable for headphones of this size. This feature makes it particularly convenient to carry around. It is also foldable and comes in a case which adds to its transportability. The headphones are made completely out of plastic, which makes it very light. The ear cushions of the Arctic P311 are quite firm, but because of its light weight (71 grams precisely) it is not uncomfortable in the least. Adding to this comfort is the fact that these headphones will be quite a snug fit – the headband goes above the ear and around the back of the user’s head (or neck) which ensures that it will not fall off! It also features basic controls on the ear cup, including volume controls and track control buttons. This feature is quite handy if you are using the P311 as a headphone for TV as it saves you the trouble of reaching out for remote controls. These ear cup controls also enable you to answer calls (when connected to your phone) very conveniently. The Arctic P311 also comes with a built-in microphone making it handy for using with a mobile phone or PC. It has a rechargeable battery that will last for approximately 20 hours after 4 hours of charging. The P311 comes with a USB charger. The overall design of the Arctic P311 is quite sleek and striking. It is available in several different colours as well, which all honestly do look quite cool and vibrant.

In terms of sound quality, the Arctic P311 is amazing, especially for its size and price. It is able to playback frequencies ranging from 18 Hz to 22,000 Hz. It is effective in its high and mid ranges, but is slightly lacking in the bass range. The mid range has remarkable clarity, and the volume could be increased even more than what you would require! It has a signal to noise ration of 95DB and has 0.1% harmonic distortion. It is not apt for high performance tasks specialising in audio mixing, etc, but is extremely effective as a TV headphone and for outdoor activities (perhaps a morning jog). The Bluetooth connectivity poses no problems whatsoever for the TV, but occasional connectivity issues do spring up when using it with a mobile phone especially since Bluetooth signals weaken as phones get pressed against the user’s skin. The general connectivity range is around 20m. However, these connectivity issues are somewhat insignificant. In terms of the built in microphone, its quality is average. However, its noise cancellation features are not very good, and you would not be heard over a party or traffic. In a quiet room, its quality is impressive.

Over-All Pros and Cons

As discussed, the Arctic P311 Bluetooth Stereo Headphones are extremely worth for the price. It is extremely handy to carry about, owing to its small size and foldable option. The over-all build of the headphones is of high quality, making it a durable product. The audio quality in general is excellent, given the size and price range of the headphone. In terms of battery life, I think this product is quite remarkable, with 20 hours of playback time. Basically, with the price you pay, there isn’t much you can be unhappy for!
The bass range of these headphones could be better. Also there are certain minor connectivity issues which come up occasionally when using it with a phone. Though the quality of the in-built microphone is acceptable, the noise cancellation is not that effective. Another minor problem is the noise ‘leak’ of the P311; if you crank up the volume significantly, the person next to you might hear you as well.

Over-All Verdict

The Arctic P311 is extremely cheap. Overall, it deserves four and a half stars out of five, for price, sound quality, convenience of use and battery life. For this incredibly low price, it would probably be the best Bluetooth headphones you could get your hands on!
